Contact: Steve Frisbie

State Rep. Steve Frisbie (R-Pennfield) has been sworn in to the Michigan House of Representatives. He will represent the people of Michigan’s 44th House District, which includes the cities of Battle Creek, Springfield, and Albion, as well as the townships of Bedford, Pennfield, Convis, Lee, Clarence, and Sheridan.

Frisbie has served as a Calhoun County commissioner for the past 13 years and was chairman of the board from 2019-2023. He also worked as a paramedic and administrator for LifeCare Ambulance Services for 41 years.

“I look forward to continuing to serve the people of this area in the state House,” Frisbie said. “It’s an honor to be selected by my neighbors to serve as their voice at the Capitol. I’m ready to get to work.”

Frisbie has stated his greatest priorities to be government transparency, education, cutting the state income tax, cutting wasteful spending, and improving public safety.

The Republican caucus will regain majority in 2025 after serving in minority during the 2023-24 legislative term. This will interrupt the trifecta that Michigan Democrats previously held while in control of both chambers of the Legislature and the governor’s office.

The Michigan House of Representatives will hold its first session day of 2025 on Jan. 8.
