State Rep. Cam Cavitt, of Cheboygan, announced he will host local office hours in August in Oscoda and Alpena counties.
The meetings take place at the following times and locations:
Monday, August 21
Oscoda County: Comins Township Hall; Noon – 1 p.m.; 1651 N. Abbe Road, Fairview
Monday, August 28
Alpena County: Twin Acres 19th Hole Food & Spirits; Noon – 1 p.m.; 1081 US-23, Alpena
No appointments are necessary to attend office hours. Those who are unable to attend but would still like to share their thoughts with the representative may call his Lansing office at (517) 373-0833 or email [email protected].
“When they’re in the freezer, all deer look the same,” said Cavitt, R-Cheboygan. “Hunting is about more than finding the biggest buck. Michigan has too many deer. We hunters need to step up and look past trophy bucks to help manage the population.”
“Parental rights are key to a successful education system,” said Cavitt, R-Cheboygan. “Families should have complete access to the materials taught in school. Transparency guarantees our kids aren’t hit with radical ideas outside the scope of a normal education.”
“Michigan residents deserve more than what Democrats delivered in their financial disclosure package. I voted yes because the legislation is a step in the right direction. I’m just disappointed the step had to be so small. Transparency is important to me and every other Michigan resident. Forcing a 3 a.m. vote was irresponsible and exactly what we’re trying to get rid of.”
