No one should be pointing the finger at national economic trends for this failure. The facts don’t back that up. First of all, President Trump’s bold tariff plans punish companies for offshoring jobs out of the United States, and they reward companies who bring factories back to the United States. Everyone knows that. Tariffs are a major argument in favor of companies building and investing in America – not overseas – and we see evidence of that all over the country. Second of all, the strong incentives in the One Big Beautiful Bill are going to usher in an unprecedented age of semiconductor growth and high-tech job creation. These companies will soon be competing with each other to find the best spots to hire American workers and build their products here at home.
“President Trump’s bold leadership is making it easier and more attractive than ever to create jobs in America. We simply need state leaders who are focused on making sure Michigan is the best possible place to build and grow. That’s why House Republicans will continue to fight at the Capitol to cut unnecessary red tape, reverse the 2023 Democrat tax hike on small business and improve state government services to help as many job creators as possible choose Michigan as a permanent home.”
